Well, we all must admit, once you are an animal lover, you love them with all your heart. We often see pet owners who carry their pups like their babies. They treat their pets like family members.
The Megastar Barbara Streisand has been so open in her social media account on how much she loves her dog Samantha, a Coton du Tulear. She has been with her for 14 years and treated the dog as her own child. But her love for Samantha seemed to had gone too much.

Samantha has a shaggy white hair. For quite some time, she had always been a feature on Streisand’s social media accounts. Samantha’s death in 2017 broke Streisand’s heart. In an interview, she said that “it was like losing a child”.
When she said this, it’s as if she means that if there is anything she can do to bring a child’s life back, she will certainly do it. Eventually, Streisand moved on and brought home new dogs.
Surprisingly, people, especially her followers on her social media accounts, started to notice that Streisand’s dogs look very similar to Samantha. Actually, they looked exactly the same as Samantha. Streisand’s interview with Variety revealed that the Megastar had Samantha cloned!

Cloning animals have been a practice for the past twenty years. The first animal that was ever cloned was a sheep named Dolly.
In 2016, the first dog ever cloned in the United States was a Jack Russel Terrier named Nubia. ViaGen, a Texas-based company, is the only company in the US who clones animals and makes pets alive again for their pet owners like Streisand.
Though cloning is a very expensive procedure, a lot of wealthy people has been patronizing this procedure. ViaGen charges $25,000 for cloning cats and $50,000 for dogs.
Until now, it is still a debate for some if cloning is “ethical” or “practical” for pet owners. But whatever we decide, nothing can stop these owners’ desire to bring their dogs back to life.
