While on a road trip going to Miami, Florida, Lola the Shiloh Shepherd dog sings an awesome duet of “We Are the Champions” by the British rock band, Queen with her owner Annie Aul.
Annie posted a video on YouTube where she documented the fun driving experience with her dog Lola. In the video, Annie lip-synced her heart out to the 1970’s rock classic. Lola, on the other hand, just sprawled in a calm sleeping position.
However, events changed after Annie sang the first verse of “We are the Champions.” Lola turned up and joined her owner by singing (howling) some parts of the song. It was an epic moment as Lola carried out a vocal range that could make her the 5th member of Queen!
Dogs have various behaviors in cars when their owners bring them to their travels. Some dogs jump with excitement and can’t stay put. Some dogs wait for their owners to roll down the car windows so they can feel the wind on their faces, and some dogs simply like sleeping on the entire trip. As for Lola, it wasn’t an ordinary car ride; it’s a grand musical performance with her owner and best friend, Annie.
Annie and Lola sang throughout and also taking turns, singing the song like rockstars with pure confidence — Carpool Karaoke style.
Howling is a form of communication for dogs. Because dogs have a pack mentality, they howl when they need to find each other, and they also do this together with their Alpha or leader of the pack as part of being in one family.
Annie’s voice may not be heard in the video because she’s lip-syncing, but she surely got Lola’s attention. Who knows? Maybe Lola also sang the other hit songs of Queen such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You” or “Somebody To Love” during the entire trip.
