As kids, we learned pretty early to detest visits to the doctor — or worse, the dentist. Despite our parents’ efforts to convince us that it’s really for our own good, in our own little minds, we knew better. We knew that their intention was to create a series of uncomfortable moments designed to make us behave and that these health professionals were actually in on the joke.

And just like a child usually would, our pet dogs also tend to notice when a visit to the vet is inevitable, and boy, can they throw a tantrum over it. You’d think their master had decided to drop them off at a nearby shelter, the way some of them carry on. Particularly if your dog is of a breed that’s known for its diva tendencies, like the Siberian Husky.

Of course, reactions can vary. Sometimes they would simply refuse to move in the hopes of delaying or even canceling the trip. Other times, they would actually go through with it and not make a fuss. But by the time you’re ready to drive back home, they will have started ignoring you altogether.

It would be so frustrating if it wasn’t so hilarious how determined they are to make you sorry for forcing them to go to the vet. Instead of making us feel remorse, we just end up laughing at their failed attempt to guilt trip us, while we say “Sorry” in the most insincere manner ever.

Luckily for us though, the sentiment usually doesn’t last. Sooner or later, they will be in a much more “forgiving” state, and the playful attitude will make a comeback. Make you sure you follow the vet’s instructions to the letter though. It simply wouldn’t do to have their condition worsen, and right after you all are on cuddling terms again.
