Melissa Nelson’s service dog, Loki, went missing one day. According to Melissa, the dog might have escaped their apartment when she was sound asleep. Melissa, while heartbroken of this incident, immediately flagged the police about the situation.

Seven weeks after Loki went missing, Melissa got reunited with the pooch. According to Melissa, the CCTV footage in her apartment showed that the pooch escaped her home. But other footages are not available because some parts of the building, and even the road, were not equipped with CCTV cameras.

But according to Melissa, members of the police were able to solve the problem. She said that the dog got picked up by a couple from Las Vegas and refused to give Loki back even after seeing news about the dog on the television.

The reunion became possible because the mother of Loki’s captor gave a tip to the police. When the police learned where Loki was, they planned their steps. The police thought it would be best that they do a sting operation to get the dog back. It turns out that Loki’s captor were owners of a liquor store.

The police used this information as leverage and did their previous plan. The cops let Melissa join because she will play an essential role during the operation. True enough, Melissa had a unique position during the entrapment operation. As they enter the liquor store, the police lurked around the area and asked the prices of the liquors. Soon enough, they saw Loki emerged from the store’s door. It was the moment the police waited as they called Melissa to enter the store.

When Melissa entered the store, Loki immediately noticed her and ran towards her. That was the time that they are confident that the pooch was Loki. They then questioned the store owners why Loki was with them. At first, the couple was adamant that Loki is theirs, but later on, retracted their statements.
