In parts of Asia, dog trading and the treatment of dogs is very different from how it is here in the western world. One organization called the Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand works to help provide better lives for abused and neglected dogs around Asia. One dog named Dreadlock had been with the foundation for four years before being adopted. Now he’s in a loving forever home.
Dreadlock was found on the streets in Asia where he had been living for six years, alone. Dog catchers rescued him and brought him to the Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand.
Dreadlock got his name from the incredibly dirty and matted coat he had when he arrived at the Soi Dog Foundation. He was six years old when he was rescued and was suffering from severe skin problems. He also had a bone problem which caused the dog to limp. The staff at the Soi Dog Foundation groomed Dreadlock and cleared up his skin. Still, the dog had no luck being adopted.
Described by the foundation as quiet and calm, Dreadlock loves to cuddle and take walks. The foundation went on to stress that Dreadlock does not get excited by much. This is important when you see the video below. Darren, a volunteer at Soi Dog Foundation, has told the ten-year-old dog that he is finally being adopted. The dog goes crazy with a happy dance. Watch the video to see how excited Dreadlock is!
After four years of patiently waiting at the shelter, Dreadlock is finally going to a permanent home. A family in the United Kingdom saw pictures of the senior dog and knew he was the right choice for them. The joy this dog has when he’s told he has a home is genuinely heartwarming. Enjoy your new, happy life, Dreadlock!
