Two Retriever Dogs Get Married at Pub Wedding in the Most Adorable Ceremony
Dogs at weddings are a common sight on the internet. Couples who include their pets on the big day always get tons of love online. But it’s rare to see dogs starring in their very own wedding ceremony. That’s exactly what happened when two retriever dogs get married at pub wedding in Somerset — and the result was pure joy.
Meet the Happy Couple: Fiji and Dotty
Fiji, a black retriever, and Dotty, a golden retriever, belong to different owners. Over the years, the two dogs formed an unbreakable bond. What started as a playful friendship eventually turned into an adorable romance. Their connection was stronger than ever, and everyone around them could see it.
How the Wedding Came to Be
The love story took a big step forward when Fiji and Dotty won a competition for a canine wedding. The prize was a full ceremony at the Prince of Wales Pub in Somerset. Their owners were quick to agree and let the celebration happen.
Amanda Reed, a staff member at Saville Row Hounds, organized the event. Her company specializes in custom dog clothing, so the outfits were top-notch. Fiji wore a dapper bow tie, while Dotty stunned in a wedding coat with a flower necklace. The marquee outside the pub was beautifully decorated with white flowers and lace.

A Ceremony to Remember
A total of fifty guests showed up to watch the retriever dogs get married at pub wedding venue. A guitar player set the mood with romantic music. Local celebrant Pippa Hamilton was asked to officiate the event.
Pippa performed a “handfasting” ceremony — a rural tradition where a couple’s hands are tied to symbolize unity. Instead of tying their paws, she tied their leashes together. She admitted the pups were a bit naughty and disorderly during the event. But that only made it more adorable.
The Reception
After the ceremony, the newlywed canines walked down the aisle to the tune of “It Must Be Love” by Madness. They then shared a dog-friendly cake at the reception. These retriever dogs who got married at a pub wedding proved that love truly knows no bounds — not even species!
