Georgie was only one month old when he was abandoned by his former master in a vacant lot. Nothing is known about his former life, except that his right front leg was missing. And that his previous family at least took the time to place him in a makeshift dog house — which consisted of a piece of plywood leaning against the vacant lot’s wall.
They also left him with some food on a bowl, which would have lasted him two days at most, if it didn’t spoil first. And That’s how Taki found him. Alone, probably too young to be away from his mom, with one leg missing, and hardly anything to start his life with. It didn’t take too long for him to take a liking to his rescuer though, seeing as his tail started wagging the moment he saw Taki.
Heaven knows what it was that cost him his left front leg. Was he born like that, or did he actually go through the physical pain of losing that limb? It was probably because he was still so young, that he was able to quickly bounce back from the experience of being abandoned — not that it made his predicament any less heart-breaking. But there he was anyway, ready to welcome Taki into his life and eager to show just how affectionate he could be.
After arriving home, the first thing Taki did to give him a new batch of food. For all he knew, the food Georgie had been left with had been there for days. Sure enough, Georgie started digging in the minute he saw it and wolfed down the entire meal.
The much-needed bath helped Georgie to relax a bit more, and before long, he was already on his back, in his own bed, and snoozing away while Taki’s other pets came and checked out this new addition to their group. The adorable three-legged pup found a forever home with Taki’s friends, Greg and Lesley. Three months later, he had fully adjusted to his new home, new family, and new life.
