Max the Bull Terrier could feel that something was wrong, and he was determined not to leave until help came. That diligence saved a 14-year-old’s life.

When George Conner’s dog Max ran away from him toward the location of several suicides, he knew something might be wrong. The place Max ran away to was a 60-foot cliff. George couldn’t see anything, but he decided to investigate.

As he got closer, something came into view. Eventually, he realized that there was a person sitting on the edge of the cliff. Max promptly walked up and sat down next to the girl. George was more cautious, not wanting to say the wrong thing, and decided to just call the police.

Officers soon arrived. They attempted to call her, but she just didn’t respond. Eventually, they decided they had to pull her from the edge. It soon became apparent that she was experiencing hypothermia. Her speaking was incoherent, and her eyes were rolling back. It appeared that she had been up there for quite a long time. With her sitting as close to the edge as she was, she would have fallen off and died if she passed out.

The police officers were quick to commend him for saving this girl’s life, but George knew he couldn’t take that credit. After all, it was Max who knew where to look.

It turned out, Max had a history of sensing danger, his owner reported. Max was constantly comforting him whenever he was sick, and always appeared to be “ten steps ahead of the game.” He was quite friendly, and overall had about the best personality you could ask for. He knew that he wouldn’t have found the girl.

Thanks to Max’s help, this 14-year-old got the treatment she needed and ended up okay.
